I have shopped the Poughkeepsie store twice in the last week. Staff could not be more helpful and Professional, especially Bill who went out of his way to assist me. This positive experience has not always been my experience. But I am totally impressed with this new attitude, home depot Poughkeepsie is back on my list!!! Thanks!!

If I could give zero stars I would and it’s simply due to the sales tactics in the tool rental area especially with vehicles! I went to rent a box truck today and I explained to the gentleman that I already went online and did my research and would just like to price check to make sure it’s correct, he proceeded to give me an incorrect price, an upsold price with added fees that the company RECOMMENDS but is not mandatory yet the employee presented it as if that price was final and mandatory! After further push back he admitted the extra pricing was optional but recommended by company and stated the facility makes him present it that way for sales purposes! So he mindful of what charges are recommended & not mandatory!! So the people whom don’t question will be charged extra to drive revenue for the company!

Hands down the best Home Depot I’ve been to in a very long time and as a roofer I’m at a Home Depot everyday. The staff there greets you and actually wants to help you.

As a truck driver I deliver to a lot of Home Depots and by far this shipping department is the worst. The people are rude and hate their life. Every time I come I’m met with disrespect, it seems as if these people hate doing anything. If you don’t like your job go find another, while here do your job and keep it going. Always takes at least 2 hours to offload 16 pallets while the forklift guy is on his phone and offloading one pallet every 15 minutes then proceeds to tell me I’m in the way when I was told to park here. Not sure what the rest of the store is like but shipping is insane.

You can tell he truly cares about his job and the people who come in looking for guidance. Paul doesn’t just point you toward an aisle—he takes the time to walk with you, explain the options, and break things down in a way that makes sense, whether you’re a contractor or just tackling a simple DIY project at home. He’s patient, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about everything from lumber and hardware to tools, paint, and home repairs. You can ask him anything, and he’ll always give you an honest recommendation instead of trying to upsell you on something you don’t need. What stands out most is that he treats everyone with respect, no matter how busy it gets. You never feel rushed with Paul. He makes the store feel welcoming, organized, and easy to navigate—especially during the Saturday mornin
